Rites of passage

In just two weeks my sweet baby boy will be one.  In case I haven't mentioned it, I have mixed feelings about that.  Like it or not, that big day is coming, and there have been a few things going on lately that have reminded me how true that is.  Just today NB got his fourth tooth, his first ride in the big car seat, and his first haircut.  It was a banner day, and, of course, we have pics to prove it.

Pictures of his long hair on top and curls in his back and sides.  To really see how long the top was, recall the faux hawk in this post.

Look Dad, no curls behind my ears!
He did really well most of the time, but there were a few minutes where he was a little tired of the whole thing.
Maybe it was the wet head...
maybe it was the hair in the face or being touched, a lot, by someone he didn't know.  Maybe it was the fact that his parents brought absolutely nothing with which to entertain or pacify him. (Parents of the year!)
He held it together for the "buzzers" though.  Those took LO a long time to get used to.
Before we knew it, we had a handsome almost one year-old with a big boy haircut.
What is that, mama?

He got to ride home in his "new" car seat.
 Now that's big time!
