32 months-quick take

While I'm writing about my boys, I thought I'd take a quick minute to record a few things about LO too.

His favorite snack: cheerios and raisins

He talks ALL THE TIME!  If there is nothing legitimate to say, his favorite fillers are: What else? What's next? What's next after that? Where'd ----- come from?

His favorite things: pockets, diggers, hide and seek, trash trucks, food.  If he's not eating food, he's talking about food, asking for food, or pretending to make and serve food.  The only time food is not on the agenda is when he gets to see a trash truck, digger, or if he's playing hide and seek upstairs with DH.

He had what I've come to call "the great escape" from his crib one month ago.  To say it was traumatic for everyone involved would be putting it mildly.  Since that time, he has napped every day on the carpet in front of the door.  The good news is that he's napping (we went nearly a week without a nap).  I fully expect that he will stop taking naps before he will decide to nap in his own bed again.

Between NB waking the house at night and the great escape, we've seen a major increase in typical toddler behavior.  LO has upped the ante with tantrums, whining, pushing, saying "no", mind-changing,  and toy throwing.  We are just now starting to see the slightest improvement in those behaviors.  Many of them would be hilarious if they weren't never-ending. As he is trying desperately to assert his independence, he is still regressing in other ways.  He often asks to be treated as a baby, wrapped, held and sung to.  He talks often of being able to do, wear, or use things (like toys or the swing) "when (he) gets little."  Only another eighteen months left of this stage, right?  Of course NB will be gearing up for it by then!
