This week NB started to sleep a little less and fuss a little more. Still, all-in-all, we're having a pretty easy time. Most nights NB wakes just once to nurse between 11 pm and 6 am, and he's pretty efficient at it. He struggles to fall asleep at either the 11ish or the middle of the night feeding though, sometimes taking an hour or so to get there. No complaints here. If we can keep this up, I think we'll weather the newborn period just fine. We'll see what the coming weeks bring.
The other notable even this week is another chapter in the "what's he really going to look like" saga. DH noticed that NB has a patch, about half an inch in diameter, of very black hair on the left side of his head. It is black the full length of the hair, not just at the roots (as we imagine it would be if it was coming in darker.) His eyes also seem to be lighter this week, but still no indication of whether they'll be hazel (our guess), blue, or green. Stay tuned for more on that front. It may be six or more months before they show their true color.
