Today we had a little family time. LO must have sensed this was something important to me and was extra cranky this morning. At one point DH just told me to go have fun by myself because we couldn't let LO out of time out long enough to put him in the car and take him to the pool. Of course having our undivided attention and being at the pool again made him a pretty happy camper (though he was still pretty high maintenance) and we were able to enjoy most of that time together. The pool has a lot of places in the play areas that spray or fill and dump water. Those features were not on when LO and I went earlier in the week, but were turned on about an hour into our visit today. LO being the cautious guy that he is was not sure he liked those. DH did a fine job of enjoying all the sprays and splashes he got as he floated in the tube around the "lazy river" so that LO eventually was curious enough to try it out. We found that a little effort and proper timing could make a lap where LO didn't get sprayed much until he got used to the idea. He eventually went in his own tube and let us push him through the sprays. It was impressive progress for him, especially given how tired he was. After pool time we had a picnic lunch with an unexpected visit form the Easter Bunny. Actually I'm not sure LO even saw the Easter Bunny (or cared) and we did not push our luck to try to take a picture with him. Shortly thereafter, the boys went home for naps and this mama got her pre-labor mani/pedi! I was excited to choose the color "I'm not really a waitress" (deep, sparkly red) that DH had chosen for me when we went on our babymoon. I love the idea of seeing it on my toes during labor and being reminded of the fabulous time we had together.
