October is a crazy month for us, and this year it is especially so. DH and I have had opposite schedules such that we have barely seen each other. Still, I had chosen this year as the first that LO could have a birthday party with a few friends. Our home is small, so inviting other children and their parents meant we needed a different venue. As remembered the fun LO had at a local dairy, I knew that would be the place. So, after (way too) much ado, we had LO's party "Down on the Farm" this past Saturday. The weather was perfect, the company great, and a good time was had by most. A special word of thanks to Aunt Cat, Grams and Nanny K for their roles in helping us pull this off. Here are the highlights in pictures:

| LO's first stop was the rubber ducky races. |
| Next stop and a favorite for the morning was the jumping pillow. Here with his best girl friend K. |
| Nanny K helped NB enjoy jumping too! |
| K catching some air |
| I love the kids' faces as they jump. L-R K, LO, S(far right) |
| Later we headed down to feed the animals. G was one of our youngest guests and he was fearless feeding the goats. |
| Toona, LO's arm feeding the goat, and G our oldest party guest and LO's soccer friend. |
| NB, G, LO feeding the chickens |
| G (stripes), K, LO, G and K's dad |
| K had a rough time, here she is feeding the pony right before it tried to have her finger for dessert! |
| The huge sand pile and tunnel are old favorites |
| K and LO hand-in-hand returning for lunch and cupcakes |
| Our party friends: LO, G, S, G, (front) K, NB, mama |
After lunch and a quick group photo, everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and ate cupcakes! LO wanted to know, "am I five now?".
| Mom, not even a cupcake bribe can make me smile for a picture. I'm sleepy! |
Then off to play again...
| LO surprised me by hopping on the zip line. (Likely influenced significantly by K riding first) |
| After the ride, he had to run the swing back up the hill for the next person. |
| After two zip line rides, it was time for a hay ride. Aunt Cat, LO, K, M, Nanny K |
We wrapped up the afternoon with a little "cow" milking, pony/buggy riding, and pumpkin picking:
| See you soon, friend! |
Even after we got home, it was hard to let go of the party...
This one might be hard to beat. Until next year....
Wonderful photos! Thanks for posting all of them!
