The last week has been crazy busy, but good overall. Papa (formerly "Bapa") and Lah-oo (formerly "Oo-oo") were here to help and visit. I hope I'll have time to blog about that soon. NB, as if he had read my last post, kicked in with a little extra fussiness. Still, for him, that amounts to about 30 minutes total a day. We can roll with that. We had his last plastic surgery appointment today. We got the official "all clear" and some updated stats. He weighs (with a wet cloth diaper) 12 lbs 14 oz (so maybe really 8 oz?) and is 23 inches long. He is still a pretty good sleeper for both naps and at night. It is really amazing to see him sleep through LO's screaming, running, or even "playing with" him. We were lucky that LO started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks, and we are betting that NB won't be doing that for a little longer. He will go for about 6 hrs on some nights, but he goes to sleep earlier so that still makes for a feeding around 2 or 3 am on most nights. NB loves his swing, and he sleeps there most of the time. He also loves to be held or touched. Papa found that just putting a hand on him when he was in his swing and fussy would calm him. His other favorite spot is in our Ergo carrier snuggled close to me. If he can't be one of those places, the paci is his (and our) friend. We are on our own now for meals and daily living. We've been blessed with 6 full weeks of meal and support from family and friends. Now it's time to figure out how to manage on our own. Hopefully we have enough skills to get started.
