Toona and Gido were here to visit briefly last week, and LO ate up all the attention. Toona had quite the collection of family videos and pictures on her iPhone, so that was a natural and readily available treat for LO on numerous occasions. We got to see the New Jersey crew and how much they've grown since we saw them in Nashville last year. We also saw video footage of second cousin Baby G who was born just a few days after NB. Toona also took video of LO and NB, and LO enjoyed watching himself...yes we're raising just a humble boy.
LO roped Gido in for reading some of his favorite books. Most often he asked for Stellaluna over, and over, and over. If you aren't familiar, it's a cute story about a bat getting separated from his mom and taken in my some birds. It's about similarities and differences among friends and family. We have the board book version and it is quite lengthy. It took a lot of patience for Gido to keep reading, and he never seemed to tire of it. FInally I noticed Gido and LO talking about the pictures. "Is this where she drops down?" LO asked. "No that's over here." said Gido. Thtat's when I realized that Gido's version was rather abridged. I said something to that effect and he just smiled. "The end (result) is the same." he said. True that, Gido. Smooth move! Not only that, but I have been really trying to get LO to take more notice of pictures in books and realize that they help tell the story. Gido helped our cause without even trying and LO didn't notice the difference.
Thanks you two for a great visit. We hope it won't be too long before we can see you again!
